These machines were completely disassembled down to the smallest nut and bolt, de-rusted, primed, painted, lubed and reassembled. They have new bearings throughout (motor, quill and pulley assembly) and new wiring/plugs. New belt and all exposed metal waxed to prevent rust.
#1 - Has an original Atlas 1/3 HP motor. These models came with 1/3 or 1/2 HP motors. This one has a Jacobs 6A chuck. The table had pecker marks that have been drilled clean and then JB Welded flush w the top. The return spring works. This is basically a brand new late 40s to early 50s drill press. It’s solid and heavy.
#2 - Has an original Atlas 1/2 HP motor. This one has a Jacobs 33 chuck. The table is pretty much spotless w only one shallow 1/8” pecker mark next to the center hole. It also has the slow speed pulley cover, which while cool looking, still has the regular speed pulley behind it. The entire pulley assembly was missing when I got it and I couldn’t find a slow speed pulley. Like #1 - solid and heavy.
While I have these listed for a single price of $1,100 I’ll sell them separately for $550 each. They’re located in my shop in Manhattan, KS and you’re welcome to stop by and test drive them before buying. I can help load.
I do this as a retirement hobby and have probably restored close to 30 old WW machines by now.
I travel to the KC metro area regularly to visit grand kids and could arrange to meet there for a serious buyer. Same is true of the Colorado Springs area where my daughter lives and at any point along I-70 between Kansas City and the Springs. Can deliver within 2 hours of Manhattan, KS for gas money. Also get to NC Kansas (Downs area) regularly.
